SPORT FOR ALL Project, Bulgarian Sports Federation for Children Deprived of Parental Care

SPORT AGAINST VIOLENCE Transnational and Interdisciplinary Seminar and SPORT AGAINST AGGRESSION Interactive Training under SPORT FOR ALL Project were held from 11 to 14 May 2016 in Albena Resort, Bulgaria. The seminar was for experts and specialists who work with troubled youth and youth at risk, or interested to attribute to combating violence via sport. During the seminar, leading lecturers from Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Turkey and Portugal presented best practices and experience of non-governmental sports organizations, municipalities and institutions in the prevention of aggression, as well as interesting data of research and analysis conducted by the project’s coordinator – related to the identification of the sport potential and physical development of young people from Institutions for children deprived of parental care. The event preceded a sports marathon in Varna, organized by the Bulgarian Sports Federation, and received wide public response and support from Bulgarian media, regional and national authorities. The interactive training presented new approaches and opportunities for cooperation in the prevention of aggression, based on best practices of informal learning and volunteering, partnership and empowerment of stakeholders from various institutions, as well as parents and volunteers. Ninety-two people – experts in the field of sport, social care institutions, representatives of the education system, youth non-governmental organizations, experts of the project partners working against violence and discrimination from Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia Portugal and Turkey, attended both events.
